With the 2019 All-Star Weekend being held in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Jordan design team brings us some throwback feelings to 1991 when the Hornets hosted the event for the first time.
For us old enough to remember, the blue and red stars, the tripple colored lining and of course the Queen City crown all bring back memories from the Bee-Hive.
All of these details are used together with the black & white palette to take this look into the future.
The army-looking stencil fonts comes from North Carolina as a state being “first in flight” back in 1903 (even if we would count the birthplace of MJ the first of flight as well…).
With the team-picking format being changed from geography to team captains (LBJ & Giannis) picking their teams, the branding has changed from the East/west graphic to the players team logo on the front in black or white and the honeycomb-pattern stars on the sides in red or blue.
