The first one is always something special. And for an extraordinary player like Paul George, the PG1 comes with a little bit extra on every level.
Rarley have we seen so many personal details on a signature shoe like this one and we are loving it!
The most obviuos is the PG-logo on the tongie, designed to resemblence a bowtie (as PG often is wearing to games) as well as his blend of simplicity and sophistication.
The outsole looks a litte bit different than what we are used to, according to Nike designer Tony Hardman the pattern is made out of fish scales. PG is an avid fisherman and loves to bring his fishing rod along to find new spots.
On this style the outsole is reinforced with XTR and made more suitable for summer ballin’.
On the left shoe is the birthdate of PGs daughter Olivia inscribed, 5-1-15 and on the right shoe is own birthday 5-2-90 detailed. is going to be hard for any member of the George family to miss out on birthdays in the future.
One detail that really stands out to us is the one of the horrific leg injury PG suffered (while with the USA squad preparing for the World Championships) where an titanium-colored stripe is added on the heel tab on the right shoe as a reminder of the actual titanium rod used to help him get back on the court.
His nickname PG-13 is also details with a “13” on the heel, and even if we think he is a nice gut, his game is lethal and rated PG-13…
The last piece of PG awesomeness is the shoebox, coverd in clouds. The reason? Designer Tony hardmans says his mission was to create clouds for PGs feet…
You cant leave this page without watching some PG highlights…
